Lake Weissensee's proximity to its southern neighbours Italy and Slovenia makes it particularly attractive for group trips. In addition to excursion destinations in Carinthia such as the Grossglockner High Alpine Road, the Nockalm Road or the 7 Lakes Tour, you can reach the border to Italy within less than an hour. From there it is about two and a half hours by car to Venice. This is a day trip that is often included in group programmes. You can also reach Bled in just under two hours, and the famous Adelsberg Cave in Postojna is only one further hour away.
COACH TRIPS IN WINTER
Lake Weissensee is also worth a group trip in winter. Skiing in the family ski resort, cross-country skiing, ice (speed) skating on the natural ice rink, winter hiking in the fog-free Sonnenhochtal valley, tobogganing and socialising at a hut evening on an alpine pasture.
