A paradise for cross-country skiers has developed around Lake Weissensee. You can start on the practice tracks or on the popular Seewiesen cross-country ski track right next to the lake.

A network of around 40 km of dual tracks & skating tracks criss-crosses the sunny and fog-free Weissensee Valley. In one of Carinthia’s most beautiful cross-country skiing regions you will find all cross-country skiing options, all leading through the stunning scenery of the lake and mountain world. Right next to the lake at 930 m, you start into an excellent cross-country skiing experience: Lake Weissensee has been awarded the Carinthian cross-country skiing seal of approval.
Biathlon for everyone
Experience the fascination of biathlon live! Biathlon is one of the most exciting sports of modern times. Biathlon is a combination of two sport disciplines requiring best performances from body and spirit. While the ski trail and lake Weissensee demand power and good shape, moments later at the rifle range concentration and calmness are needed – a thrilling interplay with particular sportive charm. Who will try to be a “hunter on cross-country skis” can do so in the newly erected laser rifle range at the Trail Centre in Techendorf.
Biathlon dates in Winter 2024/25
Monday from 10 a.m. to 12.30 p.m. and Friday from 1 p.m. to 3.30 p.m. or upon individual arrangement.
Biathlon Package Services:
- Basic cross-country skiing techniques (classic or skating style)
- Basic shooting technique with laser rifle
- Practical experiences skiing and shooting
- Participation at the team competition “Fun Biathlon Weissensee”
- Costs: € 48,- per person

Support contributions for cross-country ski tracks
For the use of the cross-country ski tracks, day guests over the age of twelve are charged a support contribution of € 8.00 for the day wristband. The support wristbands are available at the Weissensee Information, from the municipality and from the cross-country ski track butlers.
Overnight guests of PremiumCard establishments can use the cross-country ski tracks free of charge.
