Ice larking - experience the song of the ice

Just us, nature and the song of the ice - together with our nature park ranger, you step out onto the frozen surface of the lake and let yourself be enchanted by the mystical sounds of the cracking ice. When it gets colder at night, the ice continues to grow and fills the winter landscape with its magical sounds, which are reminiscent of whale songs and make the Weißensee ‘sing’. Over a warming nature park punch right next to the ice, you will learn more about the fascinating ecosystem and exciting nightlife of the Weissensee Nature Park, which is well on its way to becoming a so-called ‘Dark Sky Community’. As such, it is our task to protect the natural darkness and the starry sky from increasing light pollution. Our rangers also show how every guest can contribute to the preservation of this cultural and natural landscape and explain the importance of correct behaviour in winter in order to preserve this unique natural experience.

Equipment: sturdy, warm mountain boots, winter-proof clothing and gloves, protection against the cold
