Fossils - Eye to Eye with the Primeval Sea
With a nature park ranger, you will walk in the footsteps of millions of years old rocks that tell tales of life in long-lost seas. You will start directly at the Fischeralm for an educational, exciting research tour into the streambed. Sharp eyes and a bit of detective work will allow you to find fossilized tower snails, sea urchins, coral formations, and clam banks. Back at the Fischeralm, you will polish the fossils you found under guidance. A very special souvenir for home!
The Weissensee Nature Park – the geological diversity in the Gailtal Alps. The protection and preservation of these natural treasures are an important part of the nature park.
